Background: Smartphones enabled with accelerometers are typically used for gaming purposes.  Accelerometers have the ability to detect gravitational (g) forces.  G forces exceeding certain limits can indicate a crash in a motor vehicle, a person falling, or a person encounter forces that are detrimental to their safety.

Situation:  Individuals who would like to have a third party monitoring capability to provide a level of safety for the person being monitored.

Solution: Wave Technology Group has designed a solution encompassing the Wave Foundation Framework, accelerometer, Smartphone, and 3G Network.  This application monitors forces being exerted on the smartphone equipped with an accelerometer.  When a g force is exceeded, indicating a possible physical safety concern of the person carrying the subject smartphone, the smartphone relays to the monitoring center via the Wave Foundation Framework the time, GPS coordinates, and device id.  The monitoring services will then process the rules for each configured phone.  Those rules can be to call the subject phone, a concerned family member, or in some cases Emergency Management Services
